在1959年，我和丈夫Ron從鄉間搬到Northmead定居，聖莫尼加便成為我的堂區。那時Ron會開車送我望彌撒和其後接我回家，因那時他還未成為天主教徒。
我記得舊教堂的彌撒常擁擠至極點，但我總能幸運地得一席位，因那時我剛懷孕，但許多人卻要站到門外。當時Father Wynne是我們的本堂神父。
當孩子開始到聖莫尼加上學，Ron便參與堂區活動，並全家一起望彌撒。有一段時期，他擔當了學校家長會的會長，他感到跟他一起合作的男士，擁有一些他所缺少的東西，最後他決定領受天主教信仰。
令我最感興奮的是，Ron在1993年的復活節由Bishop Bede Heather 授洗，加入成為教會的一份子，我將永遠感激聖莫尼加這堂區。

In 1959, my husband, Ron and I moved to Northmead from the country. St Monica’s was my Parish Church and Ron would drive me to Mass and pick me up after as he wasn’t a Catholic at that stage.
I remember Mass in the old church as being “Packed to the rafters”. I was always lucky to get a seat as I was pregnant at the time, but many people had to stand outside. Father Wynne was the Parish Priest.
When our children started school at St Monica’s, Ron joined in parish activities and came to Mass with us. He was president of the Parents and Friends at one stage and worked at housie. He began to feel that the men he worked with had something he didn’t have and decided to be instructed in the Catholic faith.
To my great joy, he was received into the church at Easter in 1993 by Bishop Bede Heather. I will always be grateful to St Monica’s.
