    * 女子組: Winsome

    * 男子組: Peter Mckeown

    * 女孩組: Girls: Anyssa Medina

    * 男孩組: Patrick Dolahenty

    * 青年組: Lewis Shiu

    * Step it up: 莫靖龍神父

    * Sack race: Alby, Peter, Mick, Roy, Patrick …

Dear Parishioners:

As you know last Sunday we had our Parish Picnic at Parramatta Park. We had lots of fun and I was very happy to see many faces there, thank you for coming, your participation made the event very special, I hope this is a tradition we can keep for the years to come.

I want to congratulate also to the winners of the different races and games we had on that day. Obviously they have to come back next year to defend their titles as winners. The winners for this year’s races are:

    * Ladies: Winsome (Sorry I missed the last name)

    * Men’s: Peter Mckeown

    * Girls: Anyssa Medina

    * Boy’s: Patrick Dolahenty

    * Youth: Lewis Shiu

    * Step it up: Father Fernando (yes I won something)

    * Sack race: Alby, Peter, Mick, Roy, Patrick and the rest whose names I couldn’t get but you know who you are.

As you can see there was lots of fun, if you did not have the chance to go, talk to someone who did and share the happiness we had on that day.

Picnics and celebrations aside, we are now in the second week of Lent. As I have been mentioning during the homilies on the weekends, lent is a time to spend more time alone and in prayer. A practice that I have been trying to introduce each year is to ask you to find a time during the day or during the week when you sit on your own with a Crucifix on your hands and just meditate on what moves you seeing Jesus on the cross for you. It is a practice that I found very enriching myself and every year I get some new insights and inspirations. Of course fasting and acts of charity are also part of the Lenten preparation. I know some of you have already decided what to “give up” for lent, I wish you the best and may God give you the strength to last until Easter and beyond.

In the following weeks of Lent, I will be introducing the catechumens who are going to receive the sacraments of Initiation and also the candidates who are going to be introduced into the Catholic Church at Easter. Lent is also the time when we pray specially for them in this important part of the preparation for this important event.

As you can see there are lots of things happening during lent, there are many things you can choose from and really think about the best way to prepare ourselves for the big celebration of Easter. Pray for one another especially during this time of Lent.

Peace in Jesus
